Saladino Announces Enrichment Classes in Painting and Drawing for Adults This Spring

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced that the Department of Community and Youth Services, Division of Culture and Performing Arts (CAPA) will once again offer exciting cultural enrichment programs for the spring 2022 season, and registration for all applications is now open.

“I am pleased to announce that the city’s cultural enrichment program will be back this spring, as these enrichment programs provide residents with the opportunity to develop a new skill while having fun,” said the supervisor. Saladino. “Whether you’re an emerging artist or a resident looking for a new hobby, these classes offer a wonderful opportunity to broaden your horizons and provide you with not only education, but fun as well.

All classes will be held at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, located at 7800 Jericho Turnpike, Woodbury NY, 11797. Classes fill up quickly and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry forms are available at www.oysterbaytown.com/CAPA. The workshop times are as follows:

  • Watercolor – Beginners – 10 weekly sessions on Mondays, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, starting March 7and.
  • Watercolor – Intermediate – 10 weekly sessions on Mondays, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Syosset-Woodbury community center, starting March 7and.
  • Oil Painting – Beginners- 10 weekly sessions on Tuesdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Syosset-Woodbury community center, starting March 8and.
  • Oil Painting – Intermediate– 10 weekly sessions on Tuesdays, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, starting March 8and.
  • Fundamentals of drawing– 10 weekly sessions on Wednesdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, starting March 9and.
  • *NEW* Acrylic Painting- 10 weekly sessions on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Center, starting March 11and.
